Philippines vs. India on Outsourcing

India has been strengthening its reputation as the leading country in the worldwide industry of outsourcing, while Philippines is still on the process of establishing its name.

Philippines, however , is gaining reputable remarks in giving quality service as outsource provider. The main reason why many companies, usually from United States, are opting to outsource in the Philippines is its lower cost of labor compared to India. Culture is even the bigger advantage wherein some of the American culture are instilled (due to close Philippine-American ties): speaking English is one among them. Centuries has passed that Philippines was colonized by the Americans, paving the way for the opportunity to learn their primary language which is English. That is why Filipinos can easily adapt to American language: it’s accent and grammar.

Since India has established its name as the leading country in outsourcing, companies in the said country would have the privilege to demand for a higher pay as the consequence. Indians’ salary is 40% higher than Filipinos’. This higher rate salary also leads to let outsourcing business in the country grow even more.

Compared to India, Philippines is more advantageous in the aspect of skills and knowledge of work for better outsourcing services aside from lower cost of pay. The fact that Philippines leads in the literacy rate of 94.6% compared to other Asian countries makes it an unbeatable proof that the country can offer only quality and customer-satisfying IT services.
